After School Care

Havurah Youth Center

Havurah Youth Center (HYC) is the JCCSF’s licensed after-school program for grades K-6 and operates M-F from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on most SFUSD school days off. Bus transportation is available from George Peabody to the JCCSF where kids are then picked up by the HYC representatives and escorted to and from their classes. Parents pick up directly from the JCCSF. Part-time schedules are also available. Highlights of the HYC include: visual/performing arts enrichment, music, drama, ceramics, recreational swimming, homework help and tutoring. Nutritious, vegetarian snacks are also provided. For fees and information, please call Alan Scher at 292-1210 or email him at ascher@jccsf.org. Applications may be downloaded at www.jccsf.org/programs/hyc-afterschool.

RDASC

A program of Richmond District Neighborhood Center, the Richmond District After School Collaborative (RDASC) provides elementary aged youth and their families with affordable after school environments that are safe, fun, enriching in the arts, academically enhancing and culturally relevant.

The program serves 83 students at George Peabody as well as three other locations (Alamo, Argonne, and Lafayette). To register, download an application via our website at www.rdnc.org or obtain one at the four school sites or at the Neighborhood Center. RDASC works with partners and its Parent Advisory Council to deliver the highest quality after school program for you and your family.

The daily program includes:

- Classes in Poetry, Music, Visual and Performing Arts
- Tutoring and homework assistance
- Recreational activities and field trips
- Counseling services
- Snack

"There is no other after school program that compares to RDASC. It is affordable, organized, structured, and provides educational support and extracurricular exposure to the arts. There is genuine care at RDASC - the people really care! As a parent and teacher I see the great value and benefits of your program."  RDASC Parent
